Building Connections

“Even if one is interested only in one’s own society, which is one’s prerogative, one can understand that society much better by comparing it with others. “- Peter L. Berger

What comparisons can you build about the society in Lord of the Flies, The Hunger Games, and our own modern day society? How are we alike? How are we different?

The similarites of society in LOTF, The Hunger Games, and our society are that theres a lot of friends and people meeting each other and becoming friends. the differences are we have freedom and some boundries, while in LOTF is too much freedom and in Hunger Games theres no freedom at all

We are alike in that we survive with food and have to have what we want to have. We are different in the way we survive. We could survive by killing, teaming up, or even with money

  3. In class we read the books Lord of the Flies and Hunger Games, these books were based around violence and survival. There societies were very different from eachother and our modern society. In Lord of the Flies, the society was ran by children fighting whether they should use violence or civility. In Hunger Games the government just jumped to war because one horrible event took place. Each year 23 people were killed!!! Our society is much more civilized then the ones described in both books. Given too much freedom and choice like the children in Lord of the Flies and too strict of a government being ruled and forced to kill people yearly as a tradition is something that would never happen in our society.

we are alike that in every society people ned friends and companions. We see even from the earliest times there was Adam and Eve.It was also similar that people will do whatever they have to survive. However thats where the differences come up.We as human beings in a modern day society act civalized. The gvmt looks to help peeople not hurt themselves
